Recently, I’ve been working through a few segments of the Flex Test Drive, build an application in an hour tutorial series and am pretty excited to see exactly what I can develop in Flex. In my database management class, my partner and I are building an application that has a place both on the web and on the desktop, so perhaps Flex might be an interesting tool with which to experiment. Although most of the work could be done in pure PHP and uploaded to a web server, users working with a large amount of data will most likely rather use custom, stand-alone applications instead of web applications through a web browser.
Unfortunately, we’re not sure exactly what form the project is supposed to be presented in, but an application is a definite possibility. Time will tell — as work is done, it will (probably) be posted on my projects page.
